Dragon Boys are ready


Under -23 dragon Boys will take on our neighbor Nepali Gorkhalis tomorrow in the South Asian Games at 2 pm in Nehru stadium in Guwahati.
The team consists of 10 senior players and rests are all from the U19 national team. The team has been practicing for almost two months in Thimphu and one week in Gelephu for climate acclimatization. The team is headed by the Nawang Dhendup, a former national player.
Chhimi Dorji will lead the side as captain and he is really hoping for positive result from tomorrow’s match.
“We have worked really hard for the tournament and boys are looking forward for the match”, he said. He added that Nepal is a very good side and it will be very difficult match.
Team Bhutan has balanced side with mixture of experienced senior national team and talented young boys. CG7 Chencho Gyelthsen will join the team straight from Bangkok after his club released him from the club duty.
Head Coach Nawang Dhendup said that the boys are ready both mentally and physically fit to take on Nepal. “We will see different Bhutan team tomorrow,” said Head Coach.
Injury is one of the main concerns for the head coach as key midfielder Dawa and also goal keeper Tshering Dhendup is injured and he is hoping they will recover very soon.
