The Tigers climb up to the top with their hard earned 3 crucial points they grabbed from High Quality United FC today at Woochu Sports Arena today. They remain the only unbeaten team of the league and has conceded the least number of goals in the tourney so far.
Paro FC broke the tedious deadlock in the dying minutes of the opening half through Dinesh Gurung when he used the little space to slot in the near post free kick awarded for handball. Expectedly, the hosts had dominance over the ball possession not giving the visitors much space to attack their goalie Gyeltshen Zangpo. On the other hand, HQUFC goalie Jigme gave exceptional saves, guarding his post despite an extensive pressure.
The second half of the game inclined towards the visitors. At 64 minutes PFC Kinley Tenzin almost netted an own goal in an attempt to clear the ball but was fortuituously saved by the awesome Gyeltshen Zangpo. Even in the last few minutes of the game, HQUFC got an absolutely glorious chance for handball on Paro FC defender Nima Tshering in the d-area but to their utter disappointment, Chencho Nio’s kicked proved to be a little too predictive as it got cleared. Having squandered all the exceptional chances, HQUFC had to settle for the 1-0 loss against the Tigers.
Head coach of High Quality United FC, Mr. Lobzang Dorji said it was the “one day luck” that they had to face this disheartening loss.
For tomorrows match, we will have Tensung FC vs Gelephu FC at Changlimithang.
