Paro Women’s FC grabs their first 3 crucial points of the league by humbling Yangchenphu Women’s FC 5-0 at Woochu Sports Arena today. The first half saw a tough game from both the sides as the visitors conceded only a goal however PWFC found the net 4 times after the break to claim their victory.
Yangchenphug Women’s FC threatened the hosts early at 3 minutes when they were awarded long range free kick and their forward Shristi Chamling Rai gave a powerful direct shot but was refused by PWFC goalie Ngawang Chozom. However, Paro Women’s FC got their first goal of the season to take the lead at 11 minutes through their captain Karma Wangmo making the visitors notch up their defense game. After that, game swung in favor of the hosts as Captain Karma almost doubled their lead at 39 minutes but her attempt was cleared by Yangchenphug goalie Jigme Choden ending the starting half in 1-0.
The game furthermore inclined towards the home team as they went ahead netting 4 goals after the interval. Gyenden Om slotted a powerful blast at 65 minutes and 4 minutes after Bishnu Maya Monger walked in the 3rd goal as Yangchenphug goalie left the post vacant, coming way forward in an attempt clear the thread. At 76 minutes Paro Women’s FC was awarded PK which was easily converted by their defense Karma Zangmo followed by another PK in the dying moments of the game and Paro Captain was back into action as she slotted the wrap up goal of the day.
The visitors almost got their consolation goal at 67th minute on the clock but to their dismay, the goal was disallowed for an offside. “We weren’t able to train well due to rain nevertheless my girls did a great job. The second half was much harder as there were loopholes in my defense line.” Said head coach Leki Dema of Yangchenphug Women’s FC.
