Stalemate at Changlingmithang

The away team PARO FC and the Thimphu district league 2021 winner DRUK LHAYUL FC settles for a point each by the full time as giant’s asset Yeshi Dorji found the net in the added time but was disallowed for offside.

DRUK LHAYUL FC started on the front foot as their midfielder Kinley Rabgay gave a beautiful long range shot almost putting his team ahead at 8 minutes on the clock but was saved by PARO goalkeeper Gyeltshen Zangpo. However the later minutes of the starting half inclined towards the visitor PARO FC with quite a lot of chances. At 40 minutes Chimi gave a blast but it hit the crossbar to bounce back and 5 minutes after, striker Tshelthrim threatened the LHAYUL goalie with a near post shot but it went a little too wide.

The second half was a high paced game in effort to go ahead. The giant of the league had dominance over the new team but they didn’t give in until the final whistle. Nima Tshering, defense of PARO FC had all the space at 77 minutes but he seemed a little too hazy as he headed the ball too wide. The additional time was expectedly filled with pressure with a goal from top scorer Yeshi Dorji but was ruled out for being offside having to end the game in a goalless draw.
