Sunrise Women’s FC gets a very interesting win of Kelme-Bhutan National Women’s League today making Yangchenphug Women’s FC concede 7 goals at Changlimithang.

Hosts for the day, Yangchenphug Women’s FC were threatened since the first whistle as Sunrise went full on with their attacking. Just like the team manager Choki Gyeltshen of YWFC said, they basically locked up their defense but to their dismay, the opening goal was a blunder on their side as it was an own goal from their defense at 17 minutes. The game went downhill for Yangchenphug after that as a minute after came the double from Sunrise Captain Galey Wangmo followed by a stunner from Namgyel Dema at 25 minutes. Captain cool found the net again at 34 minutes to end the starting half in 0-3 lead.

In the second half, Yangchenphug notched up their defense game keeping Sunrise attackers away from the net but eventually at 76 minutes Captain Galey completed her hat-trick by converting an exceptional assist from their Vice Captain Pema Choden Tshering. The already leading team was awarded PK for a foul in D-area but was easily refused by Yangchenphug goalie. However, the newly substituted goalie turned striker, Nima Lhaden shot in an amazing goal to make it 6 and then came the final and the wrap up goal was by yet another newly substituted midfielder Sonam Choki Tamang.

“Our training for the next match against Ugyen Academy Women’s FC is as expected, going to be more intense considering how strong they are” said the head coach of Sunrise, Rinchen Dema.

For the next match we will have Mandala Women’s FC vs Ugyen Academy Women’s FC on Tuesday at Changlimithang.
