Transport stuns Paro

Paro FC gives up their tag of being the only undefeated team with their first defeat of BoB Bhutan Premier League 2021 losing 3-2 to Transport United FC at Changlimithang today. TUFC stands third on the table with 37 points.

Transport United FC comfortably took the lead at 11 minutes through their star Tsenda Dorji. The opener was an absolutely thrilling blast that shot pass the Paro goalie, Gyeltshen Zangpo. Visitors shockingly faced a very intense pressure from the hosts as they were threatened the second goal at 29, 36 and 39 minutes but they sure kept their defense up not letting in any goal, at least until the halftime.

Paro FC made a beautiful comeback in the second half leveling it up in 53rd minute when Tobden Drakpa headed in the corner kick and at 65 minutes came their second goal, taking the lead through their forward Phub Thinley with a stunning assist from defender Kinley Tenzin. However, at 77 minutes came the equalizer from Dilip Monger with an assist from Jigdrel Wangchuk and they got the winner from the newly substituted Singay Wangchuk at 79 minutes to make Paro FC face their first loss of the season.

“We got 3 points and my boys did a great job today. They have shown the beauty of football by working together as a team” said the overwhelmed head coach of TUFC, Ngawang Jampel.

With todays game, the BoB Bhutan Premier League 2021 has already got the top 3 teams of this season. The title race, however is still on between Paro FC and Thimphu City FC but Transport United FC has a chance to surpass the Cityzens if they fail to acquire all wins in the last 2 matches.
