UA on the right track

Ngawang Namgyel Tamang floated in the opening goal at 20 seconds after the first whistle giving the league it’s fastest goal of the season but Nyenda levelled it up at 20 minutes. UGYEN ACADEMY FC came back stronger in the second with 2 goals from Kelzang Jigme and Karma Cheltrim to grab the first pivotal points of the second leg.

Celebrating it the Bhutanese way

The team in the lowest position in the point table GELEPHU FC stunned the visitors UGYEN ACADEMY FC when striker Ngawang found the net within a minute of match commencement. However, the away team picked up their pace of counterattack making the hosts opt for a very defensive game and at 22 minutes came the leveler from newly substituted Nyenda Yoesel when he cut through GELEPHU defense to slot in.

GELEPHU again tried to go in front at 47 minutes but the visitors had it their way ahead through Kelzang Jigme’s clean shot when he found the GELEPHU goalie’s guard down just after 2 minutes. The home team faced tremendous and continuous attempts from UGYEN ACADEMY FC and eventually conceded the 3rd goal at 77 minutes on the clock when UA defender Karma Cheltrim headed in the free kick from Dilip Gurung.

“If we lose like this then we should stop playing. This is a disappointing result for us” said the utterly disappointed coach of GELEPHU FC.

For the next match we will have DRUK LHAYUL FC vs PARO FC at Changlingmithang on 6th August.
