A brace from Tshering Yangden earns Ugyen Academy Women’s FC the 3 crucial points today at Changlimithang defeating Mandala Women’s FC. UAWFC will be facing Sunrise Women’s FC for their next match.

Both the teams faced an equal amount of pressure but after the 15th minute, game inclined towards the visitors favor as they threatened the home team when Sunita Rai rolled in an attempt towards the vacant post but it went a few inches out. However after 2 minutes, UAWFC got their opener from their striker Tshering Yangden as she bravely cut through 2 Mandala defense to hit the net.

Mandala almost got an equalizer at 32 minutes on the clock as their star Ngawang Choki had UAWFC goalie standing alone but she squandered the chance in haste, shooting it way too wide.

Early in the second half, Tshering Yangden doubled their lead at 54th minute with a long-range beauty. At 61 and 62 minutes, Tshering Yangden yet again gave beautiful attempts but the 1st was saved by goalie and the second one was stunningly cleared by Mandala defense Sonam Choden.

Despite the hosts trying their best for a consolation goal until the final whistle, they had to accept 0-2 loss by the full time.
