Sunrise got a haul-trick from striker Galey Wangmo and a goal each from Suk Maya Ghalley and Pema Choden Tshering to defeat Taktshang Women’s FC 9-0 at Changlimithang today.

It was an obvious win for the table topper today as they had hammered 21 goals during the first leg of the league. However, despite a major advantage on the side of Sunrise, Taktshang notched up their defense game by basically parking their bus and the exposure they got through the tournament kept them from conceding a large margin goal unlike in the first encounter. Sunrise today was held up by the captainship of Pema Seldon Dorji until half time despite her young age.

Pema Seldon Dorji, a 15 years old student of Lungtenzampa Middle Secondary school is the youngest player of the on-going Kelme-Bhutan National Women’s League 2021 and has always found a place in starting 11 of the top team. Pema started football when she was in 3rd standard and has played in U15 National Team for 2 years. “I started liking football after i saw Messi playing” says the baby of the team and she hopes to contribute towards creating gender equality in football.

The youngest player wants all the other young women enthusiastic about football to not give up on ones dream and she looks forward to having skilled and tactically sound national team which will be able to compete with other developed nation’s team and bring home a lot of trophies in near future.

“Baby, if she continuous her skill training and maintaining her passion for football, she will become a very great woman footballer of Bhutan. Apart from that she is a very disciplined player” says Rinchen Dema, head coach of Sunrise WFC.

For the next match we will have Yangchenphug WFC vs Ugyen Academy WFC at Changlimithang tomorrow.
