First Football Academy School
Bhutan Football Federation inaugurated the first-ever Football Academy School in the country, today. The ceremony was graced by His Eminence Tshogi Lopen, Dorji Rinchen of Zhung Dratshang and Ms. Zimbiri, Chairperson of Women’s Football in Bhutan.
Ms. Zimbiri expressed her immense excitement in Bhutan Football reaching the first milestone of accomplishing the goal of building a premier learning institute and advised the first batch of the Academy to dedicate oneself into making the best out of the opportunity.
She conveyed her gratefulness to Dasho Ugen Tsechup, President of Bhutan Football Federation for his vigilant drive in the realization of his dream to have a football academy in Bhutan.
Principal, Mr. Chencho Namgyal said that the aspiring footballers should realize what a great virtue they are bestowed upon by being able to attend the academy.
The Changjiji Football Academy School has 60 students and 8 teachers. For now, the school will have classes in campus for 7th to 10th standard and plans to upgrade it to 6th to 12th in the near future.
