Gomo advance to 8th position

Gomo FC takes full advantage of their home game as they send the visitors Rinpung FC defeated 2-1 at Ugyen Academy ground today. The 2 goals they slotted in the first half proved to be enough to claim the 3 crucial points.

The hosts had the game in their favor as they were awarded PK early at 10 minutes but their little striker Migma Dorji shot it a little too wide missing the glorious chance. Nevertheless, Gomo forward Tshering Jamtsho slotted the opener at 20 minutes when he shot pass Rinpung goalie Kinley Wangchuk. Shortly after 4 minutes, Rinpung defender Kinzang Chophel netted in the crucial equalizer by converting the beautiful free kick from their striker Kinley Tshering. Gomo went ahead in the stoppage time through Tenzin Wangda.

In the second half Rinpung went in full rage searching for a leveler but having squandered all the chances, they had to end the game in 2-1 by the full time. Coach Jangchub of Paro Rinpung said, “my boys weren’t able to perform well on the natural ground because we couldn’t even train on this venue beforehand and that must have been the reason for them not being able to grab 3 points.”

With this win, Gomo FC climbs to the 8th position on the point table.

For the next match we will have Ugyen Academy FC vs Tensung FC at Ugyen Academy ground tomorrow.
