GOMO had the lead in the first half when they were fortuitously awarded PK for a handball in d-area and their striker Migma made the best out of the chance. However, after the interval Ngawang Tobgay, the star of the army team netted a leveler at 87 minutes making the home team settle for a point.
The visitors started on the front foot as they went on full attacking mode since the first whistle threatening the host with a stunning free kick at 16 minutes by Phuntsho Dorji but was denied by GOMO goalie Karma Dorji. As the away team had their eye on claiming the crucial points, the young team had theirs on the revenge for the 2-1 loss in the first round. However, a handball in the D-area of TENSUNG at 45 minutes proved to be lethal for the team as the little GOMO striker Migma Dorji Limbu slotted in a simple goal to put his team ahead. Just like in their first encounter, the starting half ended in the 1-0 lead of GOMO FC.
After the break, the visitors went in full search of an equalizer but the young team kept their defense locked up. Nevertheless, the TENSUNG top scorer Ngawang Tobgay to the rescue, he netted an exceptional goal in last few minutes. He gave his team the crucial win in the first round and today, he made the hosts settle for a draw.
“We were a goal down in the first half but i didn’t take any pressure because i knew that we will atleast draw even if we couldn’t claim the 3 points today” said Kinley, the assistant coach of TENSUNG FC.
