Lhayul stuns table topper City

Thimphu City FC faces their first and a very disheartenning loss of the season losing 1-2 to the newbie Druk Lhayul FC today at Changlimithang. “We, the team officials and players are very glad that inspite of being a new club we were able to defeat the defending champion of the league” said the joyful boss of DLFC, Sonam Tenzin.

The Reds started on the front foot as they threatened the Thimphu District League 2021 winner Druk Lhayul FC with awesome chances but Kelzang Jamtsho, the Lhayul defender put the team ahead at 10 minutes as he slotted in the rebound. This led to an extensive rise in pace of the game as City boys went all out and hazy in search of an equalizer. Despite having a major dominance over the game, the desperation for the leveler impacted them way too much that they squandered all the chances.

“Our defender lacked a bit of concentration in the first half and we were 2 goals down” said the gaffer Ngawang when asked about the loopholes for todays game. The 2 goals of the first half was enough for Druk Lhayul FC to claim their major win of the league.
