A hat trick each from young forward Tobden Drakpa and top scorer Yeshi Dorji, a goal each from captain Jigme Tshering Dorji and Tshelthrim gave the giant PARO FC a very resounding victory against GOMO FC today at Woochu Sports Arena. Nevertheless, GOMO earned a consolation goal through their striker Tenzin Wangda in the last minutes of the game.
Since the first whistle, the game was one sided as it completely swung in favor of the Tigers. After numerous threads, Tobden Drakpa opened the floodgate at 18 minutes when he beautifully finished a cross from Phub Thinley. Shortly at 22 minutes, PFC strong build captain Jigme Tshering Dorji headed in the assist from striker Yeshi Dorji to double their lead. The third goal came from Yeshi Dorji just after a minute or so when they were awarded PK for foul play in the D-area and he again found the net at 28 minutes by slotting in the assist from Nima Tshering. Tobden Drakpa came back to the scene at 31 minutes to hit the net and the PFC star Yeshi Dorji completed his treble at 40 minutes with an absolute assist from forward Phub Thinley.
However after the break, the leading team found the net only twice. “By the second half we had our young squads in the field so that affected the tempo of the game” said the PFC gaffer, Puspa Lal. At 56 minutes the cheerful forward Tshelthrim made it 7 when he slotted in a stunning shot and at 71 minutes Tobden Drakpa completed his hat trick. Yet, GOMO shot in a consolation goal at 82 minutes when Tenzin Wangda volleyed in the rebound from PARO goalie Sherab Gyeltshen ending the game in 8-1 by the full time.
