Sunrise continues their winning streak
Sunrise Women’s FC has yet again earned 3 crucial points of the league today being able to make Mandala FC concede 3 goals by the full time. Sunrise has netted 21 against Taktshang Women’s FC and 5 goals against Paro Women’s FC in their first 2 outings of Kelme-Bhutan National Women’s League 2021.
Mandala FC faced tremendous pressure from Sunrise Women’s FC since the start. They were forced to basically park their bus as the threats kept getting stronger by the time and their opponent almost went ahead in several attempts. However, the opening goal didn’t arrive until the 39th minute through a corner set piece as Sunrise Captain Galay Wangmo headed in the corner kick from her fellow Namgyel Dema.
Sunrise Women’s FC didn’t ease up even in the second half as they intensely attacked on Mandala FC to let them concede yet another goal at 68 minutes. This time it was Tandin Wangmo Tamang with her powerful shot to find the back of the net and in the stoppage time, their forward Namgyel Dema slotted a near post blast.
Mandala had an exceptional chance at 74 minutes when their forward Sherab Wangmo found the Sunrise goalie Nima Lhaden off guard but her attempt proved to be a little too predictable.
Kinley Wangmo, the head coach of Mandala FC said “the set piece of Sunrise Women’s FC was exceptional so for the upcoming matches, I want to focus on this tactic while training.”
For the next match we will have Taktshang Women’s FC vs Ugyen Academy Women’s FC on Saturday at Woochu Sports Arena.
