Sunrise remains uninterrupted
Sunrise Women’s FC grabs yet another 3 points of Kelme-Bhutan National Women’s League 2021 defeating Mandala FC at Changlimithang today. Nevertheless, Mandala made the top team concede the 1st 2 goals of the season.
The first few minutes of the match was in favor of Mandala FC as their defense turned forward Sonam Choden and their midfielder Sonam Wangmo threatened the top team. However, Sunrise Women’s FC got their opener from their forward Tandin Zangmo when she volleyed in the assist from their captain Pema Choden Tshering at 20 minutes. Shortly after followed the doubler from Galey Wangmo at 23 minutes and their little forward Sonam Choki Tamang made it 3 at 29 minutes. Tandin Zangmo came back into action at 32 minutes to complete an exceptional assist from Namgyel Dema with a powerful blast and Galey completed her brace in the stoppage time before the interval.
The second half saw Mandala locking up their defense and attacking against the top team as they got quite a number of chances. Eventually at 76 minutes, Sunrise gave in as Mandala midfielder Sonam Choden slotted in a powerful free kick making the table topper concede the first goal of the season earning them the consolation goal for the day. In the dying moments of the game, MFC found the net for the second time through their forward Sonam Wangmo to end the game in 5-2 by the full time.
“The first half went really well but in the second half, I think my players were a bit too relaxed” said Rinchen Dema, head coach of Sunrise Women’s FC.
For the next match we will have Taktshang WFC vs Yangchenphug WFC at Woochu Sports Arena tomorrow.
