PARO FC claimed yet another win of the tourney humbling the army team, TENSUNG FC 0-3 today at Changlimithang Stadium. In the second half of the match, men in green gave a tough fight to the giant just conceding an only but an exceptional goal from Tobden Drakpa.
The Tigers went ahead early at 6 minutes when the top scorer Yeshi Dorji nodded in the ball pass the TENSUNG goalkeeper Nedup Dorji. Five minutes later, in attempt to clear the pressure from the visitors TENSUNG defense Nidup Dorji slotted in a disappointing own goal doubling the opponent’s lead. The army team got a fabulous chance as they were awarded PK at 26 minutes but Ngawang Tobgay’s shot was a little too clear for the PARO goalie Tobgay because he refused the powerful, near range shot from the TENSUNG star. Both the teams squandered all the chances thereafter to end the first half in 0-2.
After the interval, the game seemed to have inclined towards the strong men in green as they locked up their defense not letting in the away team to have it easy. The boss of PFC said that the second half was tougher for them saying “towards the second half it had drizzled so the ground was quite heavy and the ball was moving fast and I think that really impacted our penetrative passes”. Nevertheless the less, young forward of the Tigers Tobden Drakpa slotted in a long range beauty at 76 minutes to wrap up the game in 0-3 by the full time.
For the next match we will have TRANSPORT UNITED FC vs GELEPHU FC on Tuesday at Changlingmithang.
