Tigers humble UAFC
PARO FC gets a very comfortable 0-3 win to UGYEN ACADEMY FC at Ugyen Academy ground today. The hosts were defeated 2-1 during their first encounter with the Tigers at Woochu Sports Arena in the first round of BoB Bhutan Premier League 2021.
The visitors went ahead early at 13 minutes through their young forward Tshelthrim when he slotted in an effortlessly clean and impeccable long-range goal. UGYEN ACADEMY almost got their most pivotal equalizer shortly after at 20 minutes when their striker Chuma Dorji gave an amazing attempt but was refused by PARO goalie Gyeltshen Zangpo. After that, followed a lot of glorious chances which were squandered by both the teams having to end the opening half in a 1 up lead of the Tigers.
Hosts started on the front foot they got a free kick for PARO defense Nima Tshering’s handball but the amazing attempt from Karma Cheltrim was cleared by the strong defense Kinley Tenzin. At 61 minutes came the doubler from the season’s top scorer till date, Yeshi Dorji when he tapped in the powerful throw ball by Nima Tshering and Tshelthrim completed his brace at 80 minutes by nodding in a beautiful side pass from Lobzang Chogyal. Nevertheless the home team battled till the last minute as Chuma Dorji and Dilip Gurung made absolutely strong shots in the additional time but was both beautifully saved by PFC goalie.
