Mandala Women’s FC humbled Yangchenphug Women’s FC 7-2 at Changlimithang today. Yangchenphug still remains without a win till date in the Kelme-Bhutan National Women’s League 2021.
Mandala FC had the game in their favor as they took the lead early at 5 minutes through their striker Sherab Wangmo. At 14 minutes Sonam Wangmo doubled the lead with an assist from her mate Sonam Choden and Sangay Budhur made it 3 at 21 minutes. Yangchenphug made the leading team concede a goal at 28 minutes but was disallowed for an offside and at 30 minutes, Mandala forward Yeshi Dema shot in a beautiful individual goal.
However, after a minute Yangchenphug got their first goal of the day throught their Captain Sonam Zangmo but in the stoppage time before the break, Mandala midfielder Sonam Choden scored their 5th goal.
In the second half Yangchenphug found the net yet another time at 60 minutes through Kelzang Tshomo. Sangay Budhur converted the precise cross from Sonam Choden to make it 6-2 by 82 minutes. The wrap up goal came from Sonam Wangmo a few minutes before the final whistle.
“Now that we are going to face all strong teams in the upcoming matches, we will be focusing on defense during the training” said Leki Dema, gaffer of Yangchenphug WFC.
For the next match we will have Paro WFC vs Taktshang WFC at Woochu Sports Arena on Tuesday.
